the miserable process of getting from 25-35..
(see video below)
note to self:
starting around 5:10 is worth remembering,
to 'happiness is love. full stop."
This Chicago Tonight story about recently discovered Chicago street photographer, vivian maier,
is probably one of the most exciting ones I've heard in a long time.
Just from the few photographs of hers they show, her images look beautiful.
I believe she should be among the best well-known street photographers of our
time. It makes me wonder how many other yet-to-be-discovered
women photographers there are out there.
This song set off my love for The Velvet Underground.
Liking them naturally goes hand in hand with having
a major interest in Andy Warhol and his Factory.
Oh! Sweet Nuthin' - The Velvet Underground
This has always been one of my favourite Bowie covers.
I wonder who Kurt Cobain would have been now.

This little video was automated by PUMMELVISION.
They take your photos from Facebook, Flickr or Tumblr and fashion them into a hip slideshow.
I'm sentimental like that.
I don't know who the song is by but I'm making it my beeswax to find out.
I'll post it once I know.
Update: Anamanaguchi made the custom track that is used for all videos.
I found an interview..
Q: Every video is set to the same song. It’s somehow magically fitting for
every Pummel video. What’s the story behind it?
A: I worked with two of the guys from the 8-bit band Anamanaguchi to make a track at the precise
same rate as the photos fly by. We went through a lot of iterations to get it just right, I needed
something that was a little bit emotional, not too distracting, at the perfect speed, and so on.

I just found out about this song.
It's from 2008.
The full version can be heard on their Myspace page.
And find out more about the band on their website.

It's about goddamn time, right ladies?
This is definitely an idea worth spreading!
First of all, I've always been a fan of stop motion.
Second of all, I love it when simple things can speak volumes.
Check out the short, "Bottle", by Kirsten Lepore.
It's just simply, great.
I'm pretty impressed with the new stuff coming out of the Gorillaz and their collaborators..
Welcome To The World of the Plastic Beach - Gorillaz (featuring Snoop Dogg)
I've been surrounded by bullshit for more years then I care to acknowledge.
Some architects build their architecture on a foundation of bullshit and are
lauded for it. Same goes for artists and their art. I lean toward the types who
can see through it and go so far as to call people out as bullshit artists.
I'm a straight shooter and possibly give people too much credit to detect the
stench, but for the most part I'm still amazed at how many people fall for it...
or I suppose fall in it.
I decided it was time to broaden my understanding of bullshit so I'm reading
this short essay, literally less than 70 pages, by philosopher Harry Frankfurt.
