Today was probably one of the cruddiest days I've had in awhile. Then I decided to go to an auction in Richmond. I've never done this before and had a slight idea of what it would be like but it was way cooler than I anticipated. I initially went to check out the Gramophone but came across this old typewriter and box of Beatles records and old LIFE magazines. It was probably better that I didn't really know what was going on or the bidding protocol or else I probably would have gotten a little carried away, probably. So sadly, I left empty handed but will definitely be going back occasionally. I foresee opportunities for acquiring interesting mid-century furniture.. Sure Vancouver has its problems, just like every other major city in the world. But it is sure nice to look at. Lately, my timing with trains has been off...or on, depending how you look at it. I say on, because I actually like trains and never get to see them pass by at close range. I find industrial areas in the city to be so interesting and exciting. I only wish I were able to explore more without getting in trouble for trespassing. Tonight was Earthhour. I looked out my south facing window to see if my neighbourhood was participating and noticed this eerie, orange glow creating a shadow of my building. So I went out to the roof top on the north side of the building and saw these two giant lights. I had seen them the night before also. I can only assume there was some night filming going on down there. Hollywood stops for nothing, not even saving the environment. I shot Akron/Family at the Biltmore for SCENEINTHEDARK.COM. I was really impressed with their live performance. If they're in your city I recommend checking them out. It was another glorious day. I was out in White Rock this time and decided to go exploring down by the water on the way home. I like going down by the water. I was out in Port Moody today and decided to go down by the water on my way home. The weather was beautiful. I don't know those kids but they seemed to be having a great time climbing all over whatever that thing was. |
