That view is from the 4th floor of my building looking north. On a nice day, the mountains are clearly visible just beyond those buildings but it's really cloudy, rainy and gloomy today. I think it's kind of amazing how clouds can disappear mountains. And imagining the city without those mountains makes for a really generic, depressing view.
I like to pretend those are mini little houses or barns in some mossy, marshy landscape.
