I met up with a couple friends to check out the opening of VanDusen Botanical Garden's new Visitor Centre designed by Perkins + Will. We found some fantastical Amanita Muscaria mushrooms beside the car and
poked at them a bit (some were already broken). The "spots" on top of that little one at the bottom of the photo
were aligned in a band across the top which was weird. And I'll be honest, the more I thought about these mushrooms for the rest of the night, the more they creeped me out. I think it's the way their thick stem grows
out of the ground that gives me the willies.
