Influenced by the languages of graphic art and propaganda used by the Russian Constructivists
and the Italian Superstudio from the 1960s, I am interested in constructing new architectural
spaces through collage.  Juxtaposing the positive and negative prints creates a dialogue between
what is perceived as solid and void space and how the experience of each is shifted and reconsidered.
I create impenetrable monuments in a science fiction-like landscape, where there is a loss of
cultural identity due to urbanization.  I am interested in the dialogue between the building and the
public realm, of solid vs. void, of the built and the spaces it unavoidably creates around itself.

Looking specifically at the works of modern artists and architects, I produce chemical paintings
that question traditional ideas of image making.  Relating back to classical painting through scale
and inspired by the Abstract Expressionist paintings of Jackson Pollock, whose paintings are
unexpected and unrestricted, layered and unplanned, and who created an experiential image that
goes beyond recognizable forms, I create large-scale Chemigrams.  These works help to fracture
the barrier of what a photograph is or should be.  By painting with light and chemicals, I create
unique and original work that cannot be duplicated.  Throughout the fluidity and motion of line and
tonality, are complex spaces where the viewer is invited to explore the detail of the layers.
