frequently asked questions
WHO OWNS THE PHOTOS?
The photographer owns the copyright and has the exclusive right to reproduce, post online, exhibit and share the photos. Only the photographer has the right to sell and license the photos.

CAN I SHARE THE PHOTOS WITH OTHER PARTIES WHO WORKED ON THE PROJECT?
In a word, no. Other parties interested in obtaining copies of the photos need to contact the photographer directly to license their own separate usage agreement. Multi-client licensing is more cost effective for clients because it allows streamlined planning and preparation for photography.

HOW DO MULTI-CLIENT ARRANGEMENTS WORK?
When more than one party pays for the rights to use the photography, it is called a multi-client arrangement. For example, architects often share the cost of a shoot with the engineers, developers, interior designers, landscape architects, contractors, consultants, product manufacturers or other parties involved in construction. Fees in this situation will be divided between the clients and each party will sign a license agreement individually. Sharing the cost of the photography among multiple clients can significantly reduce the cost for each participant. Please mention if you will be sharing photos in your initial email when detailing your project.

*Any party requesting usage after the shoot will be required to purchase a per image usage agreement at full photo licensing rates.

WHY DO I NEED TO CREDIT THE PHOTOGRAPHER?

Like any artist or designer, a photographer should be recognized for their work. Chances are the photographer and client will publish and post the images on various platforms so it’s mutually beneficial for each to acknowledge the work while promoting it. A visible photo credit improves a photographer’s exposure and can be a way to obtain new clients. It’s a necessary habit to get into and strengthens your professional relationship.

WHERE DO YOU WORK?
Anywhere! I photograph projects in Ottawa, Kingston, Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver regularly but am available to travel to any location for your shoot.

I WANT TO HIRE YOU! WHAT DO I DO NOW?

Send me an email to book a shoot with details of your project, ie: minimum number of desired images, scale of project, location, interior and or exterior shots, timeline etc, and we can go over your needs and if it's local arrange a site visit.
