I took a little working vacation for a couple weeks this month. I spent five relaxing days in St. Lucia and a week in Barbados, shooting a few vacation homes on both islands before attending my friend's wedding on the beach in Barbados. On my 18-day vacation I... drove a mercedes • slept in a mercedes • saw the sunrise in the german countryside • drove through villages and towns i'll never remember the names of • saw lots of turbines and solar fields • relied on the kindness of strangers • saw a castle on a cliff • enjoyed peace and solitude • reflected on the past • daydreamed about the future • got lost exploring on purpose • photographed major icons • enjoyed a daytime thunderstorm in berlin • realized how much i miss being around german speakers • drove 180km/hr on the autobahn • spent the night at the bauhaus school • wondered and wandered • rode in planes, trains and automobiles, and a boat • reunited with friends i haven't seen in years • missed others that couldn't make it • swam in the mediterranean • sunned on the sand • laughed • put away my camera • relaxed • went to a lovely wedding • listened and learned • danced • drank sangria a lot • abandoned plans • continued traditions • appreciated home • experienced thunder and lightning in barcelona • let go • saw the sunrise in spain • caught the flu • came home to a surprise thunderstorm • germany spain |
